To design and implement a project for recycling dust from electrical steelworks in order to enrich its zinc content so that it can be re-used, and to minimise the production of this type of waste. To this end, systems have been designed and implemented to extract dust from electric furnaces for subsequent storage and re-circulation, with the aim of reinserting the dust into the furnace and so recycle it.
The technology implemented by EKOTEK, has achieved a reduction of a 60% in the total quantity of waste generated, with a greater than 10% enrichment of dust from electric steel furnaces, leading to a significant environmental improvement and a significant cost saving in waste management.
